My name is Fr. Ignatius Chiedu Dibeashi. I am originally from Nigeria, born on January 24th 1961 in Kaduna the state capital of Kaduna State in north-western Nigeria. I am the fourth of nine children. I am a huge soccer fan and enjoy hiking. I had my seminar formation in Ss Peter and Paul Major Seminary lbadan, Nigeria and was ordained
as a priest on October 7, 1989, the feast day of Our Lady Queen of the Rosary! I spend my first twelve years of priestly life in the diocese of lssele-Uku, Nigeria.
In 2001, I came to America for further studies and attended Franciscan University, Steubenville, Ohio, where I earned a degree in Masters of Science in Educational Administration. While taking a break in San Diego after studies, in 2003, I answered the call to help at St. Jude Shrine of the West, San Diego. I worked at St. Jude from October 1, 2003 to July 1, 2008 when I was assigned to St. Adelaide of Burgundy, Campo and St. Mary Magdalene Jacumba. After eleven years of working in the backcountry, I have been assigned to Immaculate Heart of Mary parish. And here I am! What an honor! Yes indeed, it is an honor for me to be your pastor. Thank you for your openness to welcome me into this great community; as your priest and pastor, and as your spiritual brother and friend In Christ.
Let God’s mission be our mission. And together, let us do our very best to be part of that mission, building up God’s Kingdom here in this great community. I do need your prayers, help and support.
Thank you!
